Audrey Jean Newman

Mrs. Audrey Jean Newman of Dothan passed away Friday, February 9, 2018. She was 83.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2018 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend James Dawsey officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 2:30 Monday, February 12, 2018, one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be gathered at the home of Jay and Pat Pate, 104 Buckhead Dr. Headland, AL. Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Newman was a member of Hodgesville Baptist Church. She was born in Chipley, FL and spent her adult life in Cottonwood, AL. She married Charlie Clyde Newman. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, and an avid collector of dolls. She also loved her flowers.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hurbert and Carrie Bell Everett, her husband Charlie Clyde Newman, brothers Billy Jean, Milton, and sister Virginia Morris.

Survivors include daughters Pat Pate (Jay) of Headland; Rose Spivey (Charles) of Headland; Laura Newman of Webb; son Phillip Newman (Mary) of Ashford; sisters Linda Worthington of Caryville, FL.; Betty Ann Cureton (Paul) of Tallahassee, FL.; brothers Don Everett (Sue) of Perry, FL.; Carthell Everett (Peggy) of Bloomington, IN.; Jerry Everett (Frankie) of Bonifay, FL.; Earl Everett (Carol) of Palatka, FL.; Danny Everett (Toni) of Perry, FL.; grandchildren Aleah (Shawn) McWhorter, Kevin (April) Hust, Bethany (Alfreda) Aponte, Daniel (Kim) Newman, Kayla (James) Reese, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Don Reeves, Jim Martin, Daniel Newman, Shawn and Logan McWhorter, and Tyler Everett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Spivey and Jay Pate.
