Barbara Ruth (Smith) Wilcox

Barbara Ruth Wilcox, of Wewahitchka, FL, formerly of Dothan, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 in Panama City, Florida. She was 77.                    

Barbara was born January 10, 1942 in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Howard Nathaniel Smith and Ruth Odell Ezell Smith. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Smith, James Smith, and Gerald Smith.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Michelle Wilcox; her sons, Larry Wilcox (Roxane) and Paul Wilcox (Debbie); her grandchildren, Anna Berkley (Blaze) and Garett Wilcox; her sisters, Opal Whitehead (Robert), Mary Helms (Rex), Bonnie Proctor, Carolyn Hathaway (Jimmy), and Elaine Hoffman; her brothers, Harold Smith and Robert “Peewee” Smith; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 prior to the service at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
