Gene Faulkner, lifetime resident of Dothan passed away May 3, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Graveside services in Memory Hill Cemetery will follow the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.

He was born on December 23, 1923. He attended Dothan High School and graduated from Marion Institute. He entered the University of Alabama until he was called into service with U.S. Coast Guard. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Dothan. He was president and CEO of Covington County Bank in Andalusia, AL. and also owner, president and acting CEO of Citizens Bank in Prattville, Al., during which time he was CEO of Faulkner Construction  Company in Dothan.

He was active in Independent Bankers Association, Associated General Contractors of America, and Small Business Association.

Gene was preceded in death by his father William C. Faulkner, and his mother Jenny Mae Ward Faulkner, brother Billy Faulkner, sister Maureen Warlick, and his grandson Benjamin Perry.

He is survived by his devoted loving wife of 71 years Doris Adams Faulkner, and three daughters Fran Perry, Gayle Johnson, Gerri Burttram, 2 grandchildren Adam Johnson and Michelle Horsley, 3 great-grandchildren Benjamin and Brandon Perry and Dru Horsley, sister Jane Warren Payne and brother Larry Faulkner, along with multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
