Billy Hayes Obituary

Billy Gene Hayes, 86, passed away on June 19, 2018 in Dothan. He was born on October 31, 1931 in Houston County, AL., to the late Alto Joseph Hayes and Iona Blanche Hayes (Boyett).

Billy was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He retired from the US. Army as an MSG, who served two tours in Vietnam. Billy also retired as a G.S. 12 Civil Service personal. He and Joann enjoyed RV traveling, and touring France, Egypt, Greece, Germany, and England. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and attending their sporting events. Billy was a history buff who took time to read books, plant a garden, and taking trips to the beach.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Joann; sons, an infant boy, Michael Hayes; brother; Joseph Hayes, nephew; Joseph Hayes, Jr.

Survivors: Daughter; Carol Watkins; grandchildren; Brandon Watkins (Dawn), Adrian Watkins (Krystle), greatgrandchildren; Brayden Watkins, Nathaniel Apple, and Jacob Toledo.
