Derrick Lee Rice

Derrick Lee Rice, 40, of Ashford, AL., passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. He was born in Houston County on February 23, 1979 to Marvette Rice and Myrtle (Brunson) Rice.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service, burial to follow at Ashford City Cemetery. Pastor Franklin Wood will be officiating.

Derrick was preceded in death by his mother: Myrtle (Brunson) Rice, brother: Stacey (Magoo) Rice, and stepmother: Gwendolyn Rice.

Survivors include his father: Marvette Rice, brothers: Marty (Brenda) Brunson, Chad Rice, Shawn (Marla) Rice, and  Jonathan (Mandee) Rice; nephews and nieces: Jeremy Brunson, Amanda Brunson York, Andrew Rice, Colby Rice, Lilly Rice, and Oliva Rice; great nephews and nieces: Chase Brunson, Drew Traylor, Keagan Cornwall, Ava Brunson and Jaylen Brunson: great-great- niece: Paisley Traylor.
