Fred Lee Thompson

Fred Lee Thompson, 80, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. He was born on March 14, 1939 in Monett, Missouri to the late Fred Thompson and Cora Thompson (Meredith).

Graveside Service will take place 10 AM on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Memory Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9AM until service time at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Fred graduated from Monett High School and Southwest Missouri State University. He taught high school classes, coached football, and baseball teams for 30 years. He is a member of the Illinois Coaches Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years: Beverly (Bain) Thompson; son: Greg (Connie) Thompson and daughter: Teresa Kay (Tony) Cron, brother: Charles Murray, grandchildren: Brianna Nicole (Miles) Madren, Austin David Keen, Logan Michael Thompson, Lauren Hannah Thompson, great-grandchildren: Maya and Cooper Madren.
