Gloria Joan (Jernigan) Smith

Mrs. Gloria Joan Smith, age 70, of Rehobeth, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018.

Born April 26, 1948 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Thomas Perry and Mary Morgan Jernigan, Gloria was a member of Pathway Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and crocheting. She also enjoyed volunteering, having volunteered for many years at Thee Store with the Columbia Baptist Association.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Vann and her brothers, Ladon Jernigan and Perry Charles Jernigan.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Smith; her son, Kevin (Stephanie) Smith; her daughter, Brandi Smith; her sisters, Sue (CJ) Hidle and Betty Jernigan; her brother, Lee (Catherine) Jernigan; her grandchildren, Landen Smith and Tyler Smith; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, July 27, 2018 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tommy White officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 7 PM, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303.
