Jane Long Obituary

Our dear Jane passed away the morning of December 22, 2018 at home with her husband, Darryl, by her side. An aggressive cancer took her quickly at the age of 67.

Jane was a native and lifelong resident of Dothan, AL. She was a graduate of Troy State University and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Her career as an elementary school teacher spanned 27 years. As an integral part of SEACT (Southeast Alabama Community Theater) she performed in countless productions and was vital support for the group. Her last role was as their General Manager. Jane and Darryl met as a part of SEACT. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Jane Sims and a brother, Ben Sims, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Darryl Long of Dothan; a sister, Claire S. Eldridge (Griff) of Asheville, NC; two nieces, two grandnieces and a grandnephew.
