John Stone Obituary

Mr. John A. Stone of Dothan passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at the age of 80.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, March 1, 2019, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 to 11 A.M. Friday, prior to the service.

Mr. Stone was born in Dale County, in the Pinckard Grimes Area. He grew up a sharecropper and loved to fish and enjoyed woodworking. He retired a Master Plumber and Electrician.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren Stone and Eula Bruce Stone, and brothers, Curtis Ray, William Cullen and Joe Mack.

Survivors include his wife Jean Ivey Stone of Dothan; daughters Vickie Meadows (Fred) of Dothan; Tami Matthews of Dothan, and two grandchildren April Lashea Meadows and Elijah “Eli” J. Matthews.
