Julia L. (Smith) Smith

Julia L. Smith, 60, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Dothan. She was born on July 17, 1957 in Dothan, AL., to Braxton Smith and Kathleen Smith (Brookins).

Julia loved reading books, as she spent her adult career as a Librarian. She retired as the Library Director at Troy University, Dothan Campus. Julia loved her great nephews and niece as they were her own grandchildren. She enjoyed planting and working in her flower gardens at home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother; Paul Smith.

Survivors include a brother: Steve Smith (Stephanie); Niece: Rachel Bruner (Wes), nephews: Matthew Smith (Jesslyn), and Patrick Smith; sister –in-law: Pat Smith, great-niece: Lauren Dodson; great-nephews: Levi Bruner, and Harrison Smith.

In Lieu of Flowers: Memorial Contributions can be made to the Dothan-Houston County Library System.

Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at
Ward Wilson Funeral Home from 1 pm – 2 pm, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 pm at the funeral home.
