Mr. Leroy Medford went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

                       

Born May 6, 1941 in North Carolina to the late Glenn and Hazel Raines Medford. Leroy was an active member and deacon of Logos Baptist Church. His passion in life was helping others and giving freely of his time and talents. In the automobile industry for most of his life, Mr. Medford was the owner of Medford Lincoln Mercury Volvo for many years, with the last year being at Brannon Stand Auto Mart. His love of automobiles extended to building and restoring antique cars. Leroy will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Medford and Vernon Medford.

 

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lavern Medford; his daughter, Robin (Bernard) Strickland, Dothan, AL; his son, Randy Medford, Miami, FL; his sister, Betty Sutton, Canton, NC; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Medford, Waynesville, NC; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Logos Baptist Church with Reverend David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM, Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the funeral home.

 

Serving as active pallbearers will be Bill Glaze, Jim McCoy, Randy Shaw, Joe Evans, Billy Lucas, and Buddy Davis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Logos Baptist Church.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Logos Baptist Church Building Fund, 736 S Shady Lane, Dothan, AL  36301.

 

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Covenant Hospice, Dr. Gregory Gibson, Dr. Scott and Allison McAllister, Dr. Jarrod Adkison, and a special nurse and friend, Sarah Daugherty.
