Lt. Col. Ret John Arden Shiver

Lt. Col. Ret John Arden Shiver, 82, passed away on September 24, 2018. Services will be on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Enon Church of Christ. Family will greet friends an hour prior to service. A committal service will immediately follow at Ashford City Cemetery. Ward Wilson has been entrusted with arrangements.

John was born on August 6, 1936; the son of Myrtle and Mazie (Bransford) Shiver. He married Joyce Petty and they shared many memories together until her passing in 2005. John then married Shirley Nowell.

Left to cherish John’s memories are his wife Shirley, son Paul (Wendy) Shiver, grandchildren Patrick and Cooper Brown, stepson Eddie (Lesa) Ingram, stepdaughter Kellye (Jeff) Epperson. Also surviving are many loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Shiver, daughter Vicki Santina, son Marty Shiver, and sister Martha Pryor.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Humane Society in honor of John.
