Mrs. Meredith Ann Kirkland of Slocomb passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 at the age of 64.
Funeral services will be held at 12 P.M. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 to 12 Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Kirkland was a member of Malvern Baptist Church. She was born March 12, 1955, in Houston County, Alabama to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Q. Smith. Meredith spent her early years in Cottonwood, Alabama and was a graduate of Rehobeth High School. During her adult years, she enjoyed secretarial work and was most recently employed by Southern Bone and Joint. In her free time, Meredith enjoyed the beach, crafting, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Meredith was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa Ann Cook.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Gerald Kirkland of Slocomb, Alabama, daughter Kristin Helms and her husband Mickey of Slocomb, Alabama, son Daniel Wade Kirkland and his wife Amber of Slocomb, Alabama, sister Ellen Arretteig and her husband Joe of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, brothers Terry Smith and his wife Peggy of Cottonwood, Alabama, Dennis Smith of Cottonwood, Alabama, grandchildren Hunter Kirkland, Tyler Kirkland, Kirkland Helms, Braden Kirkland, and Emmalyn Kirkland.
Pallbearers will be Joe Sellers, Larry Stephens, Larry Bond, Shirl Creel, James Stevens and Bryan Jones.
