Mr. Richard Joseph Casper, 83 of Dothan passed away December 27, 2017 at Extendicare Health Center following an extended illness.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2 P.M. Tuesday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association alz.org or any other memoriam of your choice.

 

He was born in Aberdeen, SD on December 26, 1934 to Barney Peter and Helen Marie Casper. After moving to Dothan from Milwaukee, WI in the early 1970’s he worked for GTE directories until retirement in 1996. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a vital part of the building of the new church that he cherished dearly. He is preceded by his wife of 34 years Marlys Jean Casper, brothers George Casper of TX and Duane Casper of VA.

 

He is survived by sister Frances Regner of Denver, CO, two sons, Bryan Alan of MS and Jay Richard of Dothan, daughter-in-law Melissa of Ashford, grandchildren Taylor Ann of Ashford, Corey and Austin of TX, Brandon (Shannon), Dustin and Austin of Dothan, great-grandchildren Ryleigh, Charlie, Remi and Silas. He is survived by wife Louann Parrish Casper of Dothan.
