Roger Dale Williams

It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Dale Williams announces his passing at the age of 74 on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama.

Roger was born on July 18, 1943 where he grew up in Malone, FL.

His father Spessard L. Williams, mother Edna Ruth Williams, sisters Patsy Strickland and Mary Ann McCoy, brother Allen Williams, and son Roger Dale Williams II, preceded him in death.

Roger was married to Linda Sue Williams for 52 years and is the father of three sons, Chris of Concord, NC, Neal of Panama City Beach, FL, and Stephen of Mobile, AL, along with one daughter, Melinda Dansby of Dothan, AL.  Roger’s pride was his ten grandchildren: Taylen, Addison, Sheldon, Tristen, Bobbi-Leigh, Branson, McKinley, Ashley, Taryn, and Rees, along with one great-grandchild that is on the way.

He retired from Georgia-Pacific after 32 years of hard work and providing for his family. Upon retiring, he continually and faithfully served the Pentecostals of Dothan, where he was recognized as Father of the Year in 1998; and never looked back. To Roger, family was everything. He was at every ballgame, every graduation, and every family reunion. Roger not only raised his family like every father and grandfather should, but he disciple them too. There are two words that Roger lived by – God and Family. The exemplification of his life will carry onward with his family, along with the memories, the Bible verses, and the wise words of wisdom.

Family and friends, and other whose lives Roger Williams touched are invited to Ward Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, April 16, 2018, from 5 to 7 P.M. for the visitation and the funeral service on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 2:00 P.M.
