Shirley A Hooper

Mrs. Shirley A. Hooper of Dothan passed away Friday, March 23, 2018. She was 77.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise, Al.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, March 26, 2018. Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Hooper graduated from Miller County High School and Riley Technical College. She traveled and sung with her brother Lewis and her sister Shelby accompanied by their father Carey Williams. She was married to Nelson Hooper for 58 years. She was an Avid Alabama Fan and a member of the Tide Pride Scholarship Club for 25 years. She loved the beauty of the Smoky Mountains and went every time she had a chance.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Lewis, Ronnie and Michael Williams, and a sister Paula Williams Rascon.

Survivors include her husband Nelson Hooper from Dothan; daughters Holly Jelks (Mark) from Enterprise; Hope Snapp (Rob) from Dothan; son Hudson Hooper (Mona) from Enterprise; sister Shelby Battles (Mickey) from Dothan; grandchildren Brad McDurmont (Tricia), Blake Mise (Brandon), Jessika Hooper, Derek Hooper (Krista), Cole Hooper, Robyn Snapp, great-grandchildren Nora McDurmont, Joe McDurmont, Eli McDurmont, Braxton Mise, Austin Adams, Jaina Adams, and beloved cat, Smoky.

Pallbearers will be Brad McDurmont, Cole Hooper, Brandon Mise, Kyle Adams, Duffy Battles and Taylor Knight.

Honorary pallbearer will be Derek Hooper.
