Tony Roberts

Tony Roberts, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in Gordon, AL. He was born on April 11, 1935 in Houston County, AL, to Boyd and Eileen Roberts (Dismuke).

 Tony was an outstanding basketball player who graduated from Ashford High School.  Tony was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a 3rd generation farmer who ran a 100-year family farm. Tony won Peanut Farmer of the Year Award numerous times here in Alabama.  He loved being on his farm, riding his tractor, enjoying looking after his fish pond and flowers. Those who knew him remembered him telling old stories and drinking Coke.

Funeral Service: 3 PM, Monday, July 30, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with visitation one hour before service, burial will follow at church cemetery.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Evelyn Roberts, brothers: Paul and Wayne Roberts.

Survivors: Son: Michael Roberts, daughter; Stefanie Clinton, sisters: Jeanette McAnulty (Elmer), and Debbie Roberts-Casey, grandson: Klie Clinton, special friend: Linda Danford ,and several nephews, nieces, cousins, and many loving family members.
