Voncile (Dowling) Wilson

Voncile Wilson, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 23, 2018 in Dothan. She was born on August 16, 1935 in Dale County, AL., to Noel Dowling and Bonnie Dowling (Austin).

Voncile was a loving wife of 62 years, mother, sister, grandmother, who was known for her quilt making, and her unique character. She enjoyed canning vegetables and working in her flower garden. Voncile helped in the raising of her grandchildren.

Funeral Services: 11 AM, Friday, July 27, 2018 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Goodwater Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation: 5 PM – 7 PM, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Preceded in death by her parents, sons; Larry C. Wilson, Dr. Johnny Wilson, Thd; sisters; Annie Lois Bragg and Louise Dean; brothers; Herman, Loyd, and Willie Dowling.

Survivors: Husband: James Wilson, daughter; Annette Pitts; daughter in law: Debbie Wilson; brother: Charles (Virginia) Dowling, sister: Virginia (Clyde) Thompson; grandchildren: Colby (Jennifer) Wilson, Blake (Brooke) Wilson, Joseph Pope, and Brandi Bowman; great-grandchildren: Jonah, Matthew, Hayden, Alley, and Finley Wilson.
