Wallace Dalton Creel

Wallace Dalton Creel, 76 of Dothan, passed away on July 18, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He is now rejoicing in heaven.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Ressie Creel, sisters Melba Knight and Mary Lou Creel, and son-in-law Shelburn Branton.

Funeral services will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11 A.M.  Burial will follow at Fadette Pentecostal Ministries Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday, July 21, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Creel was a graduate of Graceville High School and a college graduate of Calhoun Community College. He was retired from Fleming Foods of Garland, Texas. He was a member of Harper’s Joy Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirlene Creel, two daughters, Karen Creel Branton and Donna Creel Mayo of Taylor, grandchildren Dr. Sheena Branton of Houston, TX, Foster Branton (Heather) of Rehobeth and Delane DeShazo (Brandon Smith) of Taylor. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Adeline and Emily Myers of Houston, TX., Jayden and Kaleb Branton of Rehobeth, and Cali DeShazo of Taylor, brother Jim Creel of Lakeland, FL, sister Sherry Sowell (Buddy) of Slocomb, brother and sister-in-laws, Jerome Godwin (Gloria) and Sue Godwin of Dothan.

Pallbearers will be Terry Godwin, Cary Godwin, Jeremy Godwin, Jason Green, Jeff Calhoun, and Mike Calhoun.
