Willadean Hadden Obituary

Mrs. Willadean Hadden of Dothan passed away Saturday. September 8, 2018. She was 89.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stacy Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

Surrounded by her family, Willadean slipped peacefully away into the arms of her Lord who she loved and cherished. She also received her supreme wish to be joined once again with her loving husband of many years.

In her earlier years, Willadean worked for United Federal Savings and Loan and retired after 22 years. Later she joined SAMC as a Volunteer, and was eventually appointed to the position of Visitor Services Coordinator.

Born and reared near Wicksburg, Willadean was a daughter of the late Sollie Weekes and Jessie Kelley Weekes. After graduation from Wicksburg High School, she moved to Dothan where she met, and married, the love of her life, Lamar Hadden. Together, Willadean and Lamar shared a wonderful life together for 65 years. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church for over 6 decades. She loved attending her Sunday School class with her most loved and dearest friends.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Willadean was preceded in death by her sisters, Rudy Dove Ingram and Lucille Casey; her brothers Hubert Weekes and Holden Weekes.

Surviving her is a son, Lamar Hadden, Jr.; two daughters, Kerry (Jim) Key, and Pam (Randy) Hebert; six grandchildren, Haley Hadden, Jason Key, Justin Key, Chrissy Cox Carpenter, Cher Cox Fagan, and Beverly Manley; six great-grandchildren, Evan Key, Patrick Key, Zach Gilley, Zoe Carpenter, Zane Carpenter, and Mandi Manley; two great-great-grandchildren, Carlie and Kali.
