Wilton Blackmon

Mr. Wilton Blackmon, 83, of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at his home following a brief illness with his family by his side.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow visitation at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Grimes officiating. Burial will be at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be JP Kelly, Michael Kelly, Jerry Rogers, George Tatom, Rusty Tolar and Craig Walden.

Mr. Blackmon was born June 3, 1936 in Dale County to the late Alto and Mary Andrews Blackmon. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Malcolm Blackmon, Bill Blackmon, Liddie Hale, Cora Kelley, Virgie Blackmon and Lois Faulk.

He was the founder and partner of Replica Plastics Inc. before he fully retired in 2014. Mr. Blackmon was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Air Force. He was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed attending events that his grandchildren were involved in. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling and sightseeing.

Survivors including his wife of 61 years, Jean Etheredge Blackmon of Dothan, two sons Stan Blackmon (Lisa) of Dothan and Jay Blackmon (Valerie) of Roswell,GA, grandchildren Phillip Blackmon (Jessie) of Birmingham, Avery and Aubrey Kate Blackmon of Roswell, GA, a sister Jean Green of Smyra, Tennessee plus many nieces and nephews.
