Anna Elizabeth Oyler

Anna Elizabeth Oyler, a beacon of joy and resilience, graced this world with her presence on February 8, 2005, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama, and after a valiant battle with cancer, she departed on April 19, 2024, at Childrens of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. Her life, though brief, was a testament to the strength of the human spirit, and her legacy is one of laughter, courage, and boundless love.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

From her earliest days, Anna was a fighter. The firstborn twin, Anna arrived into this world weighing only 3.5 pounds, but her light was undeniable, and her laughter soon became her trademark. Anna's journey through life was marked by her infectious humor, making her the funniest person in any room, capable of lifting spirits with just a word or a smile. A graduate of Harvest Christian School's class of 2023, she was not only bright but also an artist at heart, with a passion for aesthetics that made her Pinterest famous.

At The Bean Bro on Fortner Street, where Anna worked, she brought her unique blend of humor and organization, often leaving her coworkers and customers in stitches with her wit. Her creative spirit shone through in every aspect of her life, from her meticulously neat and organized surroundings to her pride in her appearance, which was always impeccable. Anna was the soul of patience, making sure every detail was perfect, even if it meant everyone else was waiting just a bit longer for her to make her grand entrance.

Her interests were as colorful and vibrant as her personality. Anna loved to indulge in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was scouring thrift stores for unique finds or exploring the world of makeup and special effects, which she mastered with unparalleled flair. Anna’s heart of gold was often found crafting beautiful blankets for other patients, doctors, nurses, family and friends while she herself was in the hospital. She was a collector of moments and things that sparkled with joy, from crystals to rubber ducks, each item a cherished part of her treasure trove of memories.

Family was the cornerstone of Anna's world. She was preceded in death by her dear grandparents, James and Marcheta Oyler, but her spirit is carried on by her loving parents, Stephen Craig Oyler and Amy Ard Oyler; her brother, Eli Oyler; her twin sister, Olivia "Livvie" Oyler; her cherished best friend, Bevelyn “Bev” Peters; her grandmother, Betty Overton; her aunt, Vicki Oyler Bauer; her uncles, Jamie Oyler and Timothy Ard; her cherished cats, Ozzy and Boof; her grandfather, Larry Ard; and a host of other family members who adored her.

Anna's life was a series of battles, each met with the same indomitable spirit. When her father faced stage 5 kidney disease, she was by his side, even while fighting her own illnesses. Her own health challenges were met with the same courage. Diagnosed with Complement 3 Glomerulopathy (C3G) in July 2023, Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in December 2023, Lupus nephritis, and eventually Veno-occlusive disease (VOD). On April 2, 2024 at exactly 11:11 A.M.  Anna received a bone marrow transplant. Her mother was her bone marrow donor. Anna fought with everything she had. Even in her final moments, as her sister Livvie held her hand, Anna's squeeze was a silent testament to her indomitable will. A will that her family playfully claimed could move the earth itself.

Anna's life was a masterclass in courage and vivacity. She moved through the world with a spirited grace, touching lives and leaving behind a trail of laughter, inspiration, and love. Her lucky number was 8, and true to that, she became a symbol of infinity, of endless possibility and hope. Anna's journey was not about the destination but about how she illuminated the path for others with her wit, bravery, and the warmth of her unforgettable hugs.

Her story is not one of sorrow but a celebration of a life lived fully, a reminder to cherish every moment, to find humor in the face of adversity, and to approach each day with the same enthusiasm and passion that Anna did. She may have moved on from this world, but Anna Elizabeth Oyler's spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, a timeless reminder that even the briefest lives can leave the most indelible impressions.
