Annetta Rose "Anne" Dawson, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023, at a Dothan hospital. Born on July 31, 1938, she was a remarkable woman devoted to her faith, family, and football. She was always the kindest person in the room, spreading love and joy to everyone she met.

 A devoted follower of the Catholic faith, Anne spent her free time traveling, the world with her husband of 14 years, Retired Army Major Fredrick Dawson. Sunday was for church and enthusiastically cheering on her beloved Alabama football team.

A private memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Anne is preceded in death by her husband Fredrick Dawson and her parents, Louis and Stella Smigiel and niece Shelley Feist.

Anne leaves behind a loving full house. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Margaret Anne McGrail, Martha Anne English, Cheri Taylor, a son, Brian Taylor, sisters, Mary Daniel (Shelton) and Marjorie LeMay (Larry), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Austin and Andrew English (Holly), Daniel, David, and Wesley Ray, Brooke and Bryce Herring; loving nephews, Shelton Daniel, Jr. and Christopher Crowson and several great-grandchildren. Her kindness, wisdom, and joyful spirit will be held dearly in their hearts forever.
