Barbara Powell

Mrs. Barbara Powell formerly of Dothan passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 surrounded by friends, family and caregivers of Bonifay Nursing Home. She was 83.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 P.M. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Powell was born October 18, 1937 in Shreveport, LA to the late Andrew Paul Sisson and Rossi Anna Cox Sisson. She was employed as a secretary for many years. She located later to Dothan, AL and spent her golden years being pampered by her dear husband SC. She loved Elvis, Alabama Football, and gospel music. She also enjoyed many adventures with special friends and dog, Koda.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years SC Powell, and sister Paulette Campbell.

Survivors include her daughters Kimberly Powell Hall (Tim) of Bossier City, LA; Debbie Risch of Columbia, LA; sister Ida Cook of Graceville, FL; brother-in-law Pat Campbell of Haughton, LA; grandchildren Melinda Peterson of Blanchard, LA; great-grandchildren Isaiah Murry, Isaac Murry, Chevy Murry, McKinsley Crippen all of Blanchard, LA; many nieces and nephews, special caregiver and daughter by love, Lisa Sneed (Timmy) of Columbia and granddaughter by love Staci Kirkland of Dothan.
