Barbara Ann Roberts

Barbara Ann Roberts of Dothan, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on December 28, 1943, in Dothan, Alabama, Barbara's life was a testament to her gentle spirit and friendly demeanor. Barbara's journey began as the beloved daughter of William Thompson and Della Mae West. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, including her 6 siblings.

A lifelong learner, Barbara earned her associate's degree from Wallace Community College. Her professional life was marked by a successful career as a Health Insurance Agent at Flowers, where she eventually retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. Her heart did race with the thrill of NASCAR, and her family was the hearth upon which her affection did burn most brightly.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, William Thompson and Della Mae Holland (Lamar); spouse, Arthur Roberts; children, Vincent Hollis and Connie Applegate; and siblings, Billy Joe Thompson, Jackie Randall Thompson, Jerome Thompson, William "Buddy” Thompson, and Mabel Leroy.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Joseph Applegate (Kandace Parker-Applegate), Justin Applegate, and Ashley Pugh (Shawn); her sister, Jean Smith and her adoring great-grandchildren, Kayleb Parker, Phelan Pugh, and Stetson Pugh.

Graveside Services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Doug Seale officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
