Bernice (Turner) Wilson

Mrs. Bernice Turner Wilson, age 85, of Pansey, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022.

Born June 9, 1936 to the late Stanley Turner and Nellie Mae Head Turner, Bernice enjoyed gardening and watching her hummingbirds. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting as well as cooking. Bernice was an entrepreneur and owned many businesses throughout her life, including the Jacket’s Nest and Country Charm. She loved children and was considered a second grandmother to many children throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Wilson; her brothers, Emmitt Turner, Leonard Turner, C. B. Turner, Melving Turner, and Lester Turner; and her sister, Lillie Arlington.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Wilson; her daughter, Pamela Woodham; her grandchildren, Daniel Wilson, Crystal Wilson Merritt (Dustin), Scotty Woodham (Latisha), Lee Woodham (Ann), Maryjo Woodham Quinn (Chris), and Stephen Woodham (Sandra); several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, January 21, 2022 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 1 PM, prior to the service.
