Betty Lou (Boyd) Dempsey

Betty Lou Dempsey, 83, a resident of Ashford, passed away, on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Early County, Ga. on February 8, 1939, to the late Charles Boyd and Hattie (Miller) Boyd.

A graveside service will be at 11:30 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Crestlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother to her family. Betty enjoyed arts, crafts, traveling, and especially fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings and a son, Richard Dempsey, Jr.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Richard Dempsey, Sr., children, Terresa Krusen, and Timothy (Wendy) Dempsey, grandsons, Alexander (Ali) Dempsey, Kyle (Emily) Lewis, and Todd Lewis, along with a host of nephews, nieces, and loving family members.
