Carolyn Ivey Hathcock, 86, of Dothan, passed away on October 24, 2023.
Born July 27, 1937 in Dothan to the late Howell Ivey and Beatrice Stevens Ivey, Carolyn was a shining example of steadfast faith in God. A member of Harvest Church, she used her abundant blessings to touch others through working in various ministries. Adorned with a fondness for decorating, she imbued every holiday with such love and delight, especially Christmas, when her decorations reflected the love and happiness she shared in celebrating the birth of Christ. Each occasion was filled with warmth and beauty, touching lives and creating lasting memories.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Sam Hathcock Jr., her sons, Kim Whatley and Sam J. Hathcock III, and her brother, Bill Ivey.
Carolyn’s loving spirit can be witnessed in the love and faith of those who were fortunate enough to share a part of her life. She is survived by her son, Brett Whatley and his wife Lynn of Houston, Texas; her daughter, Dawn Hathcock of Montgomery, Alabama; her daughter-in-law, Paige Hathcock; her grandchildren, Lauren Findley and her husband Robert of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mary Cathrine Dulac and Maggie Dulac; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan Findley and Joshua Findley of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Eli Dulac; special friends, Nick and Shirley Adair and Nikki Gilbert; and a host of other relatives and friends.
