Catherine Pauline (McLeod) White

Catherine Pauline White, 90, beloved mother, ‘Grandma’ and Christian matriarch, passed away October 27.  Born in Orlando, Florida, January 7, 1932, to Herman Lee and Jesse Pauline McLeod White, Catherine married John David (JD) White when she was 15, with JD’s passing December 7, 2010, after 63 years of marriage.

    Catherine worked tirelessly alongside JD in tenant farming, running a produce stand, heavy equipment operation, and scrap metal business, ultimately becoming ‘Grandma’ waitress at Italian Family Express from 57-80 years of age. Catherine studied her Bible every day and brought many to Christ, beginning with the Baptism of her beloved JD shortly after they were married. 

    A dear mother to David Lee (Sylvia) White, Alex Wayne (Lisa) White and Linis Sharlene (Paul) White Cox-Morgan, Catherine is survived by eight grandchildren: Kathy Lynn (Mark) Powers, Lorrie Fay White, Richard (Sarah) Smith, Raymond (Kathy) Smith, Chad (Tiffany) White, Alexa (Rolando) Torres, Kim (Pat) Moates, and Aaron (Ashley) Cox. Great grandchildren are Austin Smith, Lauren (Tyler) Sims, Hunter (Lexi) Powers, Kaylan (Brantley) Herman, Emma and Landon Andress, Xander, Aidan and Aurora Torres, Harris, Mason, Morgan and Marlee Moates; Connor, Reagan and Josh Cox. Great, great grandchildren are Levi and McKinley Sims; Lynnlea Powers and Graham Herman. She leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.

    Catherine joins many loved family and friends in Heaven including: sister, Sylvia Dianne (Butch, Ed) Moss; brother, Wiley Lee (Buddy) (Ellen) McLeod; grandson, Lamar Smith; son-in-law, Chuck (Linis) Cox.

    Visitation is Saturday, October 29, 2022 ,10:00 AM at  Enon Church of Christ,1366 Enon Road, Webb, AL, with service following at 11:00 AM, Preacher Samuel Walker presiding, Ward Wilson Funeral Home officiating. Burial follows in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Pansy.
