Ceretha Elmore Kent

Mrs. Ceretha Elmore Kent of Dothan passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the age of 87.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2023 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday, one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Kent was born September 21, 1935 to the late Charles Bascom Elmore and Dovie Lee McCallister. She was a long time employee of Southeast Health Hospital. She loved going to the beach and was well known for her 14 layer chocolate cake. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She always put others before herself.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother JC Elmore (Augusta), sister Zelema Smith (Curtis) and niece Laurie Axtell.

Survivors include daughters Jan Brannon (Howard), Kaye Walker (Todd), grandchildren Chris Barfield (Amy), Stacey Howell, Matt Brannon (Asia), Jennifer Walker, she also considered Daniel Howell and Tina Hope as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren Tyler Barfield, Hayden Barfield, Brodie Barfield, Bella Barfield, Greta Howell, Maris Brannon and Coy Brannon, niece Barbara Wills (Robert), nephew Jim Elmore and many special great-nephews.
