Charles Lochte Evans of Midland City passed away peacefully at his home on November 9, 2024 following a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 2 PM in the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Brother Larry Burkhalter and Reverend Tucker Lewis will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. The family will be accepting flowers.
Charles was born March 17, 1950 to Vernon D. and Maxine Henley Evans, in Bogalusa, Louisiana. He married Faye Turner of Midland City on November 9, 1974. They were married 50 years to the day. Charles worked at TriState Plant Food for 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, writing short stories, reading his Bible daily, and was an avid LSU fan. Geaux Tigers! He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Dothan.
In addition to his wife, Faye, Charles was survived by a son, Charles Matthew Evans, Midland City and a daughter April Joy (Jay) Nolin, Columbia; grandchildren, Charlie Evans, Tacoma, WA, Dakota and Madison Evans, Midland City, Katelyn and Leigha Glover, Cottonwood, Brittany and Jacob Nolin, Columbia; a brother, Michael Evans, Knoxville, TN; and a sister, Judy Evans Fariss, Blakely, GA. He also leaves his "special boys" Jim Page, Nick Powell, Matt Collins, Robert "Bama" Thornton, Josh Bullock, and Jonathan Bullock.
The family extends a special thank you to Enhabit Hospice for the wonderful care you provided for Charles. He loved each of you and looked forward to your visits.
