Charles Mathis Obituary
Mr. Charles Ricardo Mathis of Dothan passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the age of 51.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Selma Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Mathis was a member of Selma Baptist Church. He was a hard worker and a Jack of all Trade. He loved Alabama football, loved people, but most of all he loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Delma Mathis, mother, Margaret Kirkland, brothers, Cecil, Paul, Glenn, and Sam Mathis.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years Liz Mathis of Taylor; mother-in-law, Mary Holton of Dothan; daughter Liza Davis (Tommy) of Dothan; son Charles Mathis (Chelsa) of Dothan; sisters, Wannah Martin of Dothan; Gracie Register (Robert) of Chipley, FL.; Junie Mathis of Dothan; brother, Daniel Mathis (Wanda) of Avon; grandchildren, Danielle Mathis, Julie Davis, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Patton, Brian Williams, Dustin White, Mike Gates, Selwyn Lynn, and “Peewee” Bell.
