Dorothy (Smith) Waters

Dorothy Waters, a resident of Slocomb, Alabama passed away peacefully Monday, January 13, 2025, at her home. She was 91 years old.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:30PM, Thursday, January 16, 2025, in New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Dorothy was born to the late Henry and Blumie Wilson Smith on June 7, 1933, in Alabama. She was the baby of four children. Dorothy loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a longtime faithful member of New Providence Baptist Church where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband Donald Waters.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Irene Graves, and LuDean Bass; and one brother, Angus Smith.

Left to cherish her memories are a sister in-law, Onis Smith; three nieces, Wanda Greinke, Sharon Cunningham (Terry), and Sharon Hyatt (Michael); three nephews Ronald Bass (Linda), Paul Bass, and Gary Smith (Charlene); two great nieces, Caitlyn Bradley (Donald), and Hannah Peters (Michael); a great- great nephew, Grayson Bradley; a great-great niece, Amara Bradley; a special friend, Blondell Hale; along with numerous other friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful care they rendered during this difficult time.
