Earle Shaw, Jr. Obituary

Earle Howard Shaw, Jr., age 79, of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, July 30, at his home in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by his family.  Earle was born in Dothan, Alabama, on December 05, 1945, to Earle and Eunice Shaw.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dale Shaw.  He is survived by his children Jennifer Gillman (Greg), Ashlee Newton (Daniel), and Earle Shaw, III, as well as two special grandsons: Grady Gillman and Hank Newton.

He dedicated his career to saving lives and helping others, beginning with his career in the ER at Southeast Medical Center, serving as an EMT, and ultimately retiring as Dean and instructor in the Emergency Medical Services Department at Wallace Community College.  He loved life and lived it to its fullest diving, traveling, sharing (many) stories with friends, collecting treasures, and learning new hobbies.  After retirement he explored woodworking and spent many afternoons creating handmade bowls and other things for loved ones.

You are invited to help us celebrate his life at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home.  The family will receive visitors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 02, 2025.
