Edith Merle (Hartley) Drinkwater

Edith Merle Drinkwater, 72, of Ashford, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her daughters’ residence.  She was born on August 31, 1948 in Dothan to the late Jack Hartley and Audrey (Wilson) Hartley.

Funeral Services will be 11 AM, Wednesday, January 20,2021 at Liberty Baptist Church in Pansey. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time at the church. The burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Edith was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family. In her earlier years she worked as a seamstress at Wextex in Ashford and Russell’s and Judy Bond in Columbia. Edith retired from Ashford Elementary School as a cafeteria worker and afterwards worked part-time at Ashford High School cafeteria.

Survivors include her children; Sherrie (David) Pate, Kevin (Angela) Drinkwater, and Jason Drinkwater and his (Fiancée’ Miranda Freeman), grandchildren, Brandon Pate, Autumn Drinkwater and Shelby Pate.

Flowers will be accepted.
