Emory Farmer, a resident of Hartford, passed away peacefully at his son’s home on December 11, 2024. He was 81. Born on January 13, 1943, Emory's life was one of dedication, love, and simple joys.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, December 13, 2024, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Sowell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the start of the service.
Emory's early years were shaped by the loving guidance of his parents, Jesse and Flora Anglin Farmer, who preceded him in death. His life was further enriched by his beloved wife, Ruth Farmer, his infant son, Steven Martin Farmer, and his brother, Lamar Farmer, who all passed before him.
Emory's legacy continues through his devoted son, Jonathan Farmer (Amber), and his adored grandchildren, Stephen Farmer (Cadance), Hailey Farmer, Christian Farmer, Damien Farmer, and Dorian Farmer, who will forever cherish his memory.
For nearly three decades, Emory was a respected employee at Hayes Aircraft Corp., which later became Pemco Aviation Group Inc., where he retired in 2005. His colleagues remember him as a steadfast and reliable presence.
A man of simple tastes, Emory found joy in gospel music and was an ardent supporter of Auburn Football, often rallying those around him with a hearty "War Eagle!" His spirit and enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Emory Farmer's journey on earth may have concluded, but his influence and the love he shared will resonate for generations to come.
