Ethel “Sue” X. Roland, a resident of Cottonwood, Alabama died Sunday, December 15, 2024 at her residence. She was 89.
Graveside services for Mrs. Roland will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Madrid City cemetery with Reverends Jerry Harden and William Irwin officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until Noon at the funeral home prior to the services. At all other times, the family will be at 11805 S. St Hwy 605, Slocomb (Madrid), AL 36375.
Mrs. Roland was born January 28, 1935 in Malvern, Alabama to the late Ralph H. Arnold and Annie Lois Speigner Arnold. She was a member at Madrid Assembly of God church where she played the piano. Mrs. Arnold had a love for her family and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mrs. Roland is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Roland; grandson, Joshua Harris and a brother, Joseph Homola.
Survivors include her children, Hurdis Harris, Jr., Gayle Irwin (William), Wendell Gobbel (Carol), Mark Snow (Dawn), Sharon Hyatt (Michael) and Jessie Harris, Betty Salter (Ricky), Lynn Phillips, Carol Roland, Jamie Roland and Greg Roland; grandchildren, Sarah Harris, Cassie Rasberry, Wendell Gobbel, Chad Snow, Logan Snow, Hunter Tedder (Paige), Jonathon Harris (Kaci) and Preston Harris; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Lloyd Arnold, Allen Arnold and Jane Simpson.
