Frances Emerson

Sarah Frances Emerson, age 86, loving mother of six, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2022.

Frances was born November 6, 1935, to parents, James and Edna Brannon. She was the youngest of six children. She lived a full life surrounded by family. The love for her family and friends was seen by all that knew her. Caring for those she loved was all she ever wanted. Throughout our lives, she made our home a place where anyone was welcome. Aside from family, we had a revolving door of children she watched after school and during summer breaks, long-time friends, neighbors, and the occasional stray dog or cat we brought home and insisted we should keep.

She was more than our mother; she was our friend, our teacher, the one we looked to for guidance, and the person that taught us family is everything. We will miss you, Mom!

Frances is survived by daughters Deborah Hughes (Jerry), Gail Strickland (Todd Kirkland), Patricia Patterson (Shawn); sons Terry Emerson (Elizabeth), Kevin Emerson (Amanda); grandchildren Derick, Michael, Tracy, Cody, McKenzie, Daniel, Tyler, Alyssa, TJ, Aaron, Brian, Hannah and many great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law Randy and Sally Emerson; grandson Jason Hughes; great granddaughter Magen Hughes; sister Betty and brothers Turman, Shelby, Steve and Tommy Ray.

 A visitation will be held at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home on 2414 Hartford Hwy, Wednesday, August 31 from 5-6pm. Followed by the funeral service.
