Fred Douglas Dempsey

Mr. Fred Douglas Dempsey, age 64, of Dothan, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021.

Doug was born July 10, 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late F. W. Dempsey and Helen Kelley Dempsey. Doug spent his working career as a Senior Buyer for Service Merchandise and Wilbro before opening family owned Our New Baby in 1993. In addition to collecting toys and antiques, Doug loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his ability to crack a joke and make people laugh.

In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his brother, Arlas Dempsey.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Pat Dempsey; his sons, Brandon (Alison) Dempsey and Jeffrey (Katie) Dempsey; his grandchildren, Brawner Dempsey, Maggie Dempsey, Sawyer Dempsey, Noah Dempsey, Taylor Hagemes, Kailey Hagemes, and Brooke Hagemes; his sister, Ann Walk; his brother, Jack Dempsey; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, May 22, 2021 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David King officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, prior to the service.
