George Talley Obituary

George C. Talley, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at his residence following a brief illness. He was 84.

The family will receive friends at a memorial visitation Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 1 PM until 4 PM at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Private family graveside services were held Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Springhill Free Will Baptist Church in Gordon, Alabama with Reverend Travis Free officiating.

George was born December 13, 1941 in Lakeland, Florida to the late William R. and Hattie Mae Talley. He was raised in Bascom, Florida before moving to Dothan in the 60’s. George was in the Banking and Real Estate business for many years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and playing cards. George was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Judy Burkett Talley, daughter, Rochelle Talton; son, Richard Talley (Jeanie); granddaughters, Jada, Kina and Liya Talton, Galen Smith (David), Hayden Deyton (David), Emma Thomas (Drew) and Katie Hyatt (Josh); great grandchildren, Guy Smith, Indiana and Evelyn Thomas.
