Mr. Jack Andrew Battle, age 91, of Dothan, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Jack was born January 8, 1934 in Houston County to the late Harry K. Battle and Lorene Kate Cherry Battle. Jack was a long-time member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed the outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or gardening, Jack enjoyed being outside unless it was to watch his beloved Alabama play.
Jack is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Battle; his sons, Jackie Battle (Judy) and Donald Battle (Kay); his grandchildren, Courtney Maertens (Jason), Alyssa Henderson (Jacob), Scotty Hanners, and Alicia Porter (William Edward), Brandon Hanners (Meaghan Baird), and Madison Hanners; his great-grandchildren, Bryant Battle, Kadon Shiver, Tristan Maertens, Asher Maertens, Jase Maertens, Waylon Henderson, and Conner Baird; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 3 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Smith officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family would like to thank Jody, Allison, Tiffany, Joann, Chaplain Joel, and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the care given to Jack.
