James Gilmer Obituary
Mr. James Douglas Gilmer of Dothan passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at the age of 71.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 P.M. Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Mr. Gilmer was born July 20, 1951 to the late John Henry Gilmer and Mary Jeanette Kelley Gilmer. He served as a Medic during the Vietnam War, and loved riding his motorcycle.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilmer is preceded in death by a grandchild Gilbert Gregory Meadows, brother John Henry Gilmer and half-brother Richard Mercer.
He is survived by his daughters Teri Gilmer Bates, Melissa Gilmer, grandchildren Shelby Anderson, Cody Anderson, Alec Abrams, Antoine Abrams, Chase Brown, great-grandchildren Easton Anderson, Kylan Abrams, and cousins David (Jan) Gilmer, and Michael (Jennifer) Gilmer.
