Jerry Mathis Gilliam, Jr

Jerry Mathis “Mat” Gilliam, Jr., age 67 from Ashford, Alabama passed away peacefully in his home October 17, 2025.

Celebration of Life services will be announced  held at a later date.

Mat was born May 14, 1958 and was a die hard Alabama fan who loved spending his days relaxing at Lake Eufaula fishing and boating.

Mat is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Mathis Gilliam, Sr and a son, Dustin Colt Gilliam.

Mat is survived by his mother, Wilma Jean Gilliam; son, Jerry Mathis Gilliam, III (Shanda); grandsons, Trent Blake Gilliam (Izzy), William Bradley Clements and a great grandson, Danny Mack Clements; sister, Pam Leverette (Ben); brother, Steve Gilliam (Ashley) and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family offers special thanks to his sitters, Betty Dixon, Sharon McLeod, Brianna McLeod, Tywana McLeod, Monica Brascomb and Hattie Johnson  for their love and care of Jerry.
