Jessie Barnes Obituary

Jessie Paulk Barnes of Dothan passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018. She was 86.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bradley Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 P.M. Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Barnes was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Savannah Paulk, husband Elvin Barnes, son Dennis Barnes, grandchild Rhonda Kay Yon, sisters Alice Clark, Earlene Purvis, Frances Strickland, brothers James and Dennis Paulk, Jr., and Billy Ray Paulk.

Survivors include daughters Wanda Blackwell (John), Phyllis Tolbert (Michael), Christine Cowarts (David), Dianne Barnes, Tammy Whaley (Todd), 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Wilson, Mike Fabris, Scotty Lee, Terry Whaley, Chris Lee and Mike Strickland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Roberts and Josh Wilson.
