Jessie Franklin Harris, a resident of Cottonwood, Alabama died Monday, December 16, 2024, at Southeast Health after an extended illness. He was 58.
A Visitation Service will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, from 1PM to 3PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
Jessie was born to the late Hurdis Harris and Ethel Arnold Roland on March 25, 1966. He was a lifelong resident of Houston County, graduating from Ashford High School in 1985. Jessie was arguably one of the best athletes to ever dawn the gold and black at Ashford. He was well known for his achievements in football and baseball. His hobbies included hunting, grilling, hanging out with his dog Tiger on the back porch, riding four wheelers, hanging out with his friends, playing softball and golf, and last but definitely not least, cheering on his beloved Auburn Tigers in the fall “War Eagle”. Jessie loved his boys and his family although at times he had an odd way of showing it. If you knew Jessie it was always Jessie Frank.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Jonathan Harris (Kaci), and Preston Harris; four grandchildren, Hayden, Krimson, Willow, and Adalynn Harris; two brothers, Hurdis Harris Jr., and Wendell Gobbel (Carol); two sisters, Gayle Irwin (William), and Sharon Hyatt (Michael); several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
