Joan Frances DeLoach, a life filled with love and laughter, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 84, in Hartford, Alabama. Born on January 4, 1941, in Valdosta, Georgia, Joan's life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought into the world.
A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, May 5, 2025 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Stephanie Cox officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Joan was the cherished daughter of the late James K. and Helen DeLoach. She was the beloved sister to Darlene Prickett and was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy L., Bobby C., and Teddy J. DeLoach. Her spirit is carried on by her sister, her very close and dear friend, Jeanette Martin, and several nieces and nephews.
The words "loving" and "funny" and “happy” only begin to describe Joan. Her infectious laughter and kind heart made her a joy to be around. With her wit Joan's love for her family and friends was boundless, and she nurtured each relationship with care and devotion.
As we say goodbye to Joan Frances DeLoach, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman dearly loved. She will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. “I have been happy and I’ll save a place for you.”
