Joseph "Joe" Anderson

Joseph Hicks Anderson, 79, of Dothan passed away in Niceville, FL. on Monday, March 4, 2019. He was born to the late Emory Addis Anderson and Daisy Nadine Anderson (Ray) in Cottonwood, AL where he was raised. He married Janice Marie Glass on October 26,1959.

Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with visitation one hour before service, burial to follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. Reverend’s Alan Bryan and Steve Skidmore will be officiating.

Joe was a loving father and grandfather whom loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Joe retired after 28 years in the Army National Guard. He loved working on cars and was an avid race car driver himself.

Alongside his parents he was preceded in death by two infant brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years : Janice Anderson; children: Gregory Joe (Candy) Anderson, Debbie Anderson (Duane) Gallagher, Amy Anderson (Scott) Clark, grandchildren: Ryan (Joley) Anderson, Kelsey Anderson, Justin (Kelsie) Gallagher, Megan (Jacob) Beauchamp, Amber Peters, Autumn Peters, Jessica Clark, Ashley Clark, great grandchildren: Lawson Joe Anderson, Abigail Marie Beauchamp, Conner Daniel Vann, brother in law: James Glass, nephews: Vance (Christy) Glass, Dan Glass, and several cousins and loving family members.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions can be made in Joe’s name to Cloverdale Baptist Church.
