Kevin Louis McCracken left us unexpectedly on November 10, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama. He was 49. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on Aug. 13, 1975, to Earl and Gail McCracken.
He attended Winter Park High in Orlando, A.C. Mosley High, and Bay High in Panama City, where he graduated. An entrepreneur and businessman at heart, he jumped at the opportunity to launch The Sleep Center mattress store in Dothan, Alabama, eventually expanding to a second store in Enterprise. With a partner, he owned several rental homes in Dothan, and just this year he earned his real estate license.
Kevin married Heather Wahl, and they have three beautiful children. He was a devoted FSU Seminoles fan and enjoyed car races of all kinds. He loved to travel; Universal Studios Orlando was his favorite destination. He was a creative cook and loved to try new foods for his family. Since childhood, he always had a pet, from guinea pigs to dogs and most recently, cats.
Kevin is survived by Heather and their children, Nicholas, Molly, and Ryan. Left to cherish his memory are his parents Gail and Bob Lippincott and Earl and Carolyn McCracken, sisters Melissa (Alan) and Emily, stepsiblings Marne, Michelle, and Christian, Heather's parents Sandra and Mike, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
Please consider donations in Kevin's memory to Kitty Kottage rescue in Dothan, AL (www.facebook.com/kittykottagedothanal/) or to an animal rescue of your choice.
There will be a private interment in Panama City, FL, in December 2024.
