Larlee Kohen Obituary
Mrs. Larlee Strickland Kohen, age 97, of Ashford, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Born October 8, 1926 in Millry, Alabama to the late Tom Strickland and Laura Hartley Strickland, Larlee was a long-time member of Antioch Baptist Church. She enjoyed passing the time sitting on her front porch in her rocking chair, visiting with friends and family. She loved to crochet and bake, especially her infamous pound cake. Her family meant so much to her so Larlee cherished every moment she could with them.
In addition to her parents, Larlee is preceded in death by her husband, Millard Dempsey Kohen; her infant son, Franklin Kohen; her daughters, Joan Hallford and Pat Worsham; and her son-in-law, Howard Worsham.
Larlee is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Dempsey Kohen and Denise of Ashford; her grandchildren, Karen (Keith) Johnson of Headland, Nathan (Kim) Worsham of Abbeville, Steven (Julie) Hass of Mobile, Stacey (Carl) Edwards of Mobile, Kristi (Drew) Donaldson of Elba, and Reverend Evan (Elizabeth) Kohen of Headland; her great-grandchildren, Lindsey (Andrew) Morgan, Sara Beth (Noah) Murphy, Larlee Beth, Ella Cate, Hannah Jo, and Jay Dempsey Kohen, Ada and Everly Donaldson, Cole (Becky) Worsham, Mallory Worsham, Peyton and Kohen Hass, and Slaid and Caroline Edwards; her great-great-grandchildren, Ivey Raye Morgan and Jack Hudson Murphy; special friends, Ellen Graham; from Westside Terrace, Betsey Wilkes, Aimee Smith, and Mollie Still; Gentiva Hospice; and friends and family in the Antioch Baptist Church Community.
Graveside services will be held at 1:45 PM, Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Evan Kohen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:30 PM, Saturday March 30, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Worsham, Steven Hass, Drew Donaldson, Carl Edwards, Keith Johnson, Andrew Morgan, and Noah Murphy.
