It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Leila Celinda George Scott, a beloved mother, friend, and caregiver. A nurse at heart, she began her nursing career caring for patients in Panama before bringing that same dedication to the United States, where she spent over 30 years as a pharmacy technician. Helping and healing people was not just her profession, it was who she was at her core.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, May 4, 2026, at St. Columba Catholic Church with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, May 4, 2026, one hour prior to the service.
Born and raised in Panama, she then made her home in Alabama. Living in Enterprise followed by Dothan, she built a life full of love, laughter, and community. She was a woman that enjoyed working with her hands and finding joy in gardening, building projects, and being outdoors. Above all, she found her greatest purpose in caring for the people around her and would go out of her way to help anyone in need.
She had a gift for making people laugh and never passed up the chance to share a joke. Her love for her friends ran deep, and those who knew her will remember the warmth and generosity she gave so freely.
She is survived by her two daughters, Karina and Kayla, who were the light of her life.
May she rest in the peace and light she so lovingly gave to others. Our hearts go out to her family and all who had the joy of knowing her.
